Messaging terms
Clappy only ever messages you in reply to you. There is no marketing list, no broadcast, and no way to be signed up by somebody else. Text STOP to end it.
The program
Clappy is a conversational messaging service for people who make short-form video. You forward it links to videos; it replies with a breakdown of why each one worked and how you might adapt the idea. Everything happens in the message thread - there is no app and no account to create.
How you consent
By sending Clappy a message. That first message is the opt-in, and it is the only way in. We cannot be given your number by a third party, there is no signup form on this website, and we never message a number that has not messaged us first.
Consent to receive messages is not a condition of any purchase - there is nothing to buy.
What you will receive
- A short acknowledgement when you forward a link.
- The breakdown of that video when the analysis finishes, usually within a minute.
- A plain-language explanation if a video could not be analysed.
- Replies to anything else you say.
- Occasionally, a single question to sharpen what Clappy knows about your work. Rarely, and it gets rarer over time.
Message frequency depends entirely on you. Clappy is reactive: it replies to what you send and does not otherwise start conversations. Every message you send gets an answer - that is a rule of the system, not a courtesy. If you send nothing, you hear nothing.
We will never send you promotional or third-party messages on this thread.
Cost
Clappy itself is free. Message and data rates may apply depending on your plan and how your device delivers the message. Check with your carrier if you are unsure.
How to stop
Text STOP at any time. Clappy sends one confirmation that it has stopped - which is the last message you will get - and then goes quiet. Texting again later starts things back up; you do not need to remember a keyword to return.

Text HELP for a summary of what Clappy does and how to opt out. Anything else you send reaches a human who reads it.
Delivery
Messages travel over networks and platforms we do not control, so delivery is not guaranteed and neither carriers nor messaging platforms are liable for delayed or undelivered messages. If Clappy goes quiet when it should not have, that is a bug - text it again and tell us.
Privacy
What we store, who else sees it, and how to have it deleted are all covered in the privacy notice. Your phone number is never shared or sold, and it is masked to the last four digits everywhere it appears in our logs.
